Safety Corner

In recognition of November being Child Safety and Protection Month, your Mabry Safety Committee would like to bring awareness to areas you and your family can work together to create a safe environment.

Bike/Scooter Safety - make sure all family members are wearing a properly fitted helmet and ride on sidewalks and bike lanes where available.

Swim Safety - make sure all pools are equipped with a locked pool fence and doors are secured with alarms. Designate one adult to be the "water watcher" when children are swimming. When in open water or on a boat, make sure children are wearing a properly fitted life vest at all times.

Household Safety - create an evacuation plan in case of an emergency. Be sure to test/inspect your smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers monthly. Lock up all harmful and toxic substances (cleaning products, medicine, etc.), cover outlets with plastic covers and secure heavy furniture to the wall.
